While we were enjoying the summer, changes have been made such as the drastically different green pitch, and the ping pong tables
According to Ms Samantha, the green pitch was built because of the sewage system, which had accidentally pumped sewage into the pitch during a football match, and the structural integrity of the pitch due to recent earthquakes. One of the newer, albeit annoying parts of the green pitch is the rubber “pebbles” which according to Ms. Samantha are there for more traction so that kids do not slip easily, countless students have been annoyed by them in their shoes. Kaan from grade 6 repeats this view, and also dislikes the fake grass. Kanyn, my classmate from grade10 concurs, but also believes that the fence was too limiting, not allowing people to kick as high or use the side of the pitch to juke people.
With the walls, and the fence door as well as the fake grass, and rubber pebbles, Ms Samantha gave a rough estimate of 500,000tl, and it took around a month, do you think it was worth it to rip out everything and start from scratch, leaving the basketball hoops and making it purely for football, now the only real options for secondary school students are football, volleyball or just plain reading.
Do not tear down the green pitch, it’s great, but the red pitch was already functional, what made the administration decide to change it entirely?
